32. When Someone Else's Testimony Becomes Your Miracle
What Sojourner’s Vision Stirred in Me
Have you ever had healing arrive in a moment that didn’t even belong to you?
As if someone else’s testimony reached through time and touched your pain?
That’s what happened to me.
Abba had been bringing Sojourner Truth to my attention over and over again within a two-week span.
I’ve learned that when He repeats something like that, He’s trying to show me something.
At the time, I didn’t know much about her, but my daughter had read several books on her life.
One afternoon, we pulled up the website YourStoryHour.org to listen to one of their dramatized true stories in the car.
Their narrations are geared toward children, but like many adults, I find them deeply moving, especially when they recount God’s faithfulness through history.
And there it was: the story of Sojourner Truth.
For those who don’t know, Sojourner Truth was born into slavery in 1797 and became one of the most courageous voices for abolition and women’s rights.
But more than that, she was a woman of profound faith, someone who walked and spoke with the conviction that God was guiding her every step.
She sought truth, lived truth, and helped set others free through it.
I felt a sense of purpose rise in me as we pressed play.
I had a feeling this was the reason she kept crossing my path.
We listened while I drove.
At one point in the story, Sojourner dropped to her knees and had a vision of Christ seated on the throne.
As I heard the actress describe what Sojourner saw, I was suddenly covered in goosebumps. They hit me like a wave on the outside and in.
I knew that feeling.
It was the Holy Spirit.
In that moment, something strange began to happen.
A deep itching started in my left kidney, down the side of my back.
It was so persistent that I had to get help removing my coat just to reach the spot.
And then it hit me.
"Itching is a sign of healing!"
I laughed through the tears and began praising God right there behind the wheel.
Maybe you’ve had a place in your body or heart that’s cried out for healing too.
Something chronic. Lingering.
The kind of pain you’ve almost grown used to carrying.
That kidney had been the more painful one for most of my illness.
Any small movement could trigger back spasms so strong they would lock my spine.
But after that moment in the car, after that vision, after that praise,
I felt something change.
The pain that had followed me daily began to ease.
The clenching and locking were gone.
It felt like 90% of the pain had vanished.
God nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.
~Psalm 41:3A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.
~Proverbs 17:22
This wasn’t a moment of dramatic worship.
Or desperate pleading.
I was simply listening.
I had been praising Abba every day for everything—
the pain, the breath, the little provisions.
Praise had become my posture.
So when the Spirit moved through a story of someone else’s vision,
I was ready.
It wasn’t a coincidence.
It was a response.
It wasn’t an accident.
It was an answer.
Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.
~Psalm 69:34
Sojourner’s vision had ignited something in me.
It was a moment that reminded me:
We never know when our healing will come.
We never know how God will use praise to touch the places in us that have long been aching.
But we do know that He is faithful to move when our hearts are surrendered.
If you’ve ever wondered whether healing can come quietly,
in a moment not even your own
let this be your reminder:
God can use anything.
A vision. A story.
A line in someone else’s prayer.
I will always be grateful that healing found me while I was intently listening,
because it taught me that praise has no borders, and mercy has no limits.
🎶 Your Turn to Praise
Thank You, Abba, that even the testimony of others can awaken something in us.
Thank You for healing that arrives in unexpected ways, in quiet moments, and in the middle of someone else’s testimony.
Thank You for giving us ears to hear when You are moving, and hearts prepared by daily praise.
Thank You for reminding me that no act of gratitude is ever wasted.
Thank You that You restore what was broken, relieve what was heavy, and touch what no medicine could.
Thank You for Sojourner Truth’s story and for the way You still speak through the lives of those who praised You before us.
In Yeshua’s/Jesus' name I pray. Amein.
Sometimes a testimony becomes a doorway. If this one opened something in you, consider sharing it with someone still looking for the light.

The Mission
I believe God has given me a beautiful and humbling assignment: to write a book about the power of praise, how it prepares the way for His miracles in our everyday lives.
This book won’t be mine alone. It’s a shared offering, a woven collection of real stories that reveal just how deeply God meets us when we choose to praise Him, even in the hardest moments.
With each testimony I share, you’ll find a simple survey where you can cast your vote: should this story be included in the book? I’d love to know what speaks to your heart.
And I’d be so honored to hear from you. Have a question or a thought? Feel free to leave a comment or message me directly. And if you have a praise testimony of your own, I’d love to read it! Your story could be the one that brings someone else the hope they’ve been waiting for.
Let’s build this book together, for His glory and for the encouragement of our Brothers and Sisters around the world.
Because when we praise Him, we shine light into dark places. And when we share that light, it multiplies.
Let’s give the world more hope. One testimony at a time.

Thank you for sharing. Very inspiring.
This is just what I needed to hear. The prayer at the end gave me goosebumps! Thanks for sharing.
